Hello there, I'm Coach Greg, and I'm thrilled you've found me! With ten years of experience as a Personal Trainer, I'm passionate about guiding individuals of all ages and fitness levels towards achieving their health and fitness goals. In 2018, I opened GN Strength & Conditioning in Portage, Mi, where I've had the privilege of working with a diverse clientele, including teenagers, middle-aged folks, and both men and women, each with unique aspirations, challenges, and physical abilities.
My passion for fitness ignited at the young age of eight when I first lifted weights with my dad. Since then, physical pursuits have been an integral part of my life, shaping my perspective on the world and myself. From excelling in multiple high school sports to the rigors of the Marine Corps, a brief stint competing in amateur Muay Thai, and finally settling into Strength and Nutrition coaching, I've consistently sought challenges that test my limits and promote personal growth. Even now, at 52 years old, my passion for fitness remains unwavering. When I'm not working with clients at my gym, you'll find me dedicating my free time to my own training, expanding my knowledge of fitness and nutrition, or guiding my two teenage kids on their own fitness journeys. Fitness is not just a profession for me; it's a way of life, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm excited to share my passion and expertise with you and help you achieve your fitness aspirations. Let's embark on a journey of transformation together! |
Client CareIt starts with listening to you. Then I ask questions to better understand your goals, your concerns and your anxieties. Then I strive to create an environment that you feel good about and can excel in. Then I listen some more. The client-trainer relationship is built on two-way communication and trust, not on me demanding "It's my way or the highway!"

Laser Focus on the ResultsYour time and your energy are precious, so I'll never program anything that doesn't move you closer to your goal. I measure results each session with carefully thought-out metrics, and I adjust your program based on your progress. Because your success is more important than my ego, I don't force you into my "Perfect Program", rather, I work to find the "Perfect Program For You".

Professional ExpertiseI am constantly studying and learning the science behind training and nutrition. But I also know that not every detail in a science journal should be applied to your program if it doesn't work for you! That's where my personal experience with myself and countless clients comes in. Each person comes with unique combinations of emotional, mental, physical, social and environmental elements that I take into account when working with a client. This has taken me many, many years to understand and cultivate - through experiences with people - not textbooks.
