Hi there, I’m Coach Greg, and I’m glad you found me! I’ve been a Personal Trainer since 2014, and in 2018 I opened GN Strength & Conditioning in Portage, Mi. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time working with all walks of life, including teenagers, middle-aged folks, men and women – all with different goals, issues and physical abilities.
Ever since I first touched a weight at 8 yrs old (with my dad), I’ve been driven by physical pursuits. From multiple HS sports to the rigors of the Marine Corps, a short career competing in amateur Muay Thai and finally settling into Strength and Nutrition coaching – there’s no doubt that my view of the world and my view of myself has been shaped by physical effort. Even now, at 50 yrs. old, you will find me spending my free time training, studying about training and nutrition, or training my two teenage kids – and I wouldn’t have it any other way! |
Client CareIt starts with listening to you. Then I ask questions to better understand your goals, your concerns and your anxieties. Then I strive to create an environment that you feel good about and can excel in. Then I listen some more. The client-trainer relationship is built on two-way communication and trust, not on me demanding "It's my way or the highway!"

Laser Focus on the ResultsYour time and your energy are precious, so I'll never program anything that doesn't move you closer to your goal. I measure results each session with carefully thought-out metrics, and I adjust your program based on your progress. Because your success is more important than my ego, I don't force you into my "Perfect Program", rather, I work to find the "Perfect Program For You".

Professional ExpertiseI am constantly studying and learning the science behind training and nutrition. But I also know that not every detail in a science journal should be applied to your program if it doesn't work for you! That's where my personal experience with myself and countless clients comes in. Each person comes with unique combinations of emotional, mental, physical, social and environmental elements that I take into account when working with a client. This has taken me many, many years to understand and cultivate - through experiences with people - not textbooks.
